Sometimes the artwork is conceived at a much larger scale and purpose that commands that it needs to be in more than one picture frame.
This beautiful 5-panel screen ( almost 5 picture frames joined together in a zigzag) was necessary for the intention of the piece by the artist Jonah Pontzar.
Initially, after a consultation, it was decided that the panels were hand finished in antique gold hand mixed colour to reflect the luxury feel of the piece.
This has resulted in a stunning piece and a classic example of a good understanding between the artist and the picture framer.
