It must be Spring, as a flurry of new shows are opening this month.

After completing a framing job, it’s always very rewarding to visit the show and see the vision of the initial curation. This also helps us to get a deeper understanding of the galleries

In this case, it was a collection of the paintings of British Artist Maeve Gilmore at the Alison Jacques Gallery.

A lot of the works were framed in a tray frame with a linen mount. This created a sensitive response to the artist’s subject matters of domesticity in the 20th century.

As quoted from the Alison Jacques Gallery, ‘ Her paintings made alone and imperatively,’ are a reflection of a romantic life, punctuated by war and illness and equally devoted to art-making as it was home-making and motherhood.’

The show continues until the 3rd of May.
